Company History

Pajarito Scientific Corporation (PSC) was founded in 1986 as a result of the technology transfer from Los Alamos National Laboratory of new and improved NDA equipment and methods.

PSC was sold to BNFL in 1997. This transition allowed expansion and development of its business to capture additional market share. Its name was changed to BNFL Instruments, Inc. in 1997. In 2007, the company was purchased by private 0wners, who established its corporate office in Santa Fe, NM under its original name, PSC. In 2014, PSC acquired a sister company, Radiation Protections Systems (RPS).

Alpha Safety acquired PSC in 2023. The combined businesses now operate together under the Alpha Safety platform, and the partnership enhances the collective companies’ expertise and capabilities to support safety critical initiatives within the nuclear cleanup, national security, and energy markets. In 2024 CADRE Holding (CDRE) acquired Alpha Safety including PSC.
